History of Choir
South African Dancing Voices (est. 2010) is a 16-membered ensemble formed by music loving men and women from University of Limpopo, South Africa. The purpose of forming the ensemble is not only to enjoy music and vocal freedom of artistic expression but to also use music as a medium of conveying a message of community building through singing, service and development. We SING to provide singers and music lovers with an opportunity to enjoy a sound quality of choral music, promote healthy singing, promote cultural or traditional expressions, raise funds for humanity, send messages of self-awareness, send messages of social and health well-being, and promote the spirit of Ubuntu (humanity and brotherhood). We provide SERVICE to human development areas such as training new singing voices, volunteer in hospital patient-care, partnership with local law enforcement bodies, collaborate with local community leadership, lend a hand in orphanage and community building projects, and promote education by working with schools' educators and learners. We promote DEVELOPMENT through rallying experts in their fields to educate and empower the community through rallies, public addresses, and service projects. We plan not only to inject life in our communities but also to be of service to the province, the nation and also braden to establish international ties. We are proudly South African and celebrate our cultural diversities through musical expression.
